Itron CEO Tom Deitrich Elected to NEMA Board of Governors

January 13, 2022

Itron President and CEO Tom Deitrich has joined the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) Board of Governors, effective Jan. 1, 2022. NEMA’s membership includes nearly 325 electrical equipment and medical imaging manufacturers that make safe, reliable and efficient products and systems. Business and technical leaders from the member companies, along with the NEMA staff, facilitate industry standards development, business analytics and policy advocacy in support of its members.

Tom joins fellow corporate executives on the NEMA Board of Governors who are elected by the general membership to three-year terms. The Board of Governors meets three times a year and is organized into policy and program committees to guide the organization’s operations in the areas of:

  • Standards and Conformity Assessment Policy Committee
  • Government Relations and Communications Policy
  • Section Affairs Policy
  • Strategic Initiatives Programs

Itron is a long-standing member and active participant in NEMA. Three former Itron CEOs (Philip Mezey, Malcolm Unsworth and LeRoy Nosbaum) have served as members of NEMA’s Board of Governors. NEMA’s ANSI-accredited committees have benefitted from Itron’s subject matter experts’ leadership in the development of the ANSI C12 electricity metering standards. Itron’s government affairs personnel have worked closely on NEMA’s federal policy advocacy initiatives.

Tom’s election to the NEMA Board of Governors aligns with Itron’s mission to create a sustainable future and a more resourceful world. “It is an honor to be elected to the Board of Governors by my industry peers. NEMA will provide a crucial voice for industry as the United States works to develop and implement the details of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act,” said Tom.
