Itron Inspire 2025: Powering the Possibilities for More Intelligent Resource Management

Oct. 7, 2025

Utilities and cities are navigating unprecedented complexity. Aging infrastructure, rising demand, extreme weather and renewable integration are pushing operations to their limits. As the pace of change accelerates, so does the need to adapt. That’s the focus of this year’s Itron Inspire, where industry leaders will explore fresh ideas, data-driven strategies and advanced technologies—and shape what’s next.

From Oct. 24-30 in Orlando, FL, utilities, cities and technology leaders will come together to share knowledge, insights and inspiration. Attendees will experience edge intelligence in action—and see firsthand how it strengthens resilience, supports reliability and enables more intelligent and sustainable resource management.

Big Ideas, Bold Voices: Can’t-Miss Keynotes

The Knowledge Conference (Oct. 26-28) is the heart of Itron Inspire. The conference includes more than 75 breakout sessions led by industry peers, thought-provoking keynotes and hands-on demos in the Knowledge Center.  This year’s keynote lineup includes:

  • Ed Bielarski, CEO of Gainesville Regional Utilities, will highlight the utility’s vision and challenges it has successfully tackled.
  • Tom Deitrich, Itron president and CEO, will discuss the role of real-time data and edge intelligence in transforming energy and water management.
  • Marina Donovan, vice president of global marketing, ESG and public affairs, will share insights from the 2025 Itron Resourcefulness Report in a keynote chat with Kristy Stone, of Duquesne Lighting Company and Ron King of Peoples Natural Gas. The report explores the transformative role data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and grid edge intelligence.
  • A visionary talk from Tom Koulopoulos, futurist and author, on the digital ecosystems reshaping our world.

Big Picture Sessions: Conversations Driving the Industry Forward

Navigating Utility Challenges: Itron’s Solutions for Today and Tomorrow

Day one will kick off with a deep dive into the power of grid edge intelligence. Susan Lynch, managing director at Accenture, will moderate a conversation between Itron’s product management leaders, Ty Roberts and Stefan Zschiegner. Together, they’ll explore how visibility and control at the grid edge are transforming utility operations and enabling smarter, more resilient infrastructure. The panel will also address challenges faced by electric, gas and water utilities—and how Itron’s solutions are helping to address these challenges today and into the future.

From Regulator to Regulated: Perspectives from Former Utility Commissioners

Day two brings a unique perspective from leaders who’ve worked on both sides of the regulatory table. Nick Wagner, vice president, regulatory, Black Hills Energy, will moderate a panel featuring former state utility commissioners who now hold executive roles within utilities. Panelists include Maria Bocanegra, president of Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas, and Kevin Gunn, vice president of state and federal regulatory policy for Evergy.
